Job Description


Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Distribution Supervisor for growing company in the Palmyra area. This position is a full time direct hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring efficient distribution processes, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of warehouse management systems, and the ability to implement process improvements that enhance productivity and safety.

Compensation: $60k/yr to start

Working hours: 5:30pm-4am Monday-Friday

Duties
  • Overall responsibility for the performance of the entire shift of hourly associates.
  • Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching, and development. Makes employment recommendations. Resolves employee issues. Consults with Department Manager or Human Resources as deemed appropriate.
  • Supervises employees and provides training, performance reviews and discipline. Models appropriate procedures and behaviors.
  • Responsible for ensuring employees treat company assets and equipment with appropriate care.
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results aligned to company goals in all areas. Works continuously to improve all areas.
  • Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to the Department Manager. Helps develop performance goals and standards.
  • Tracks absenteeism: verifies time records and updates automated time keeping system. • Ensures safe food handling practices and procedures according to company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that safe work practices and procedures are considered and implemented in all operations. Investigates and documents accidents per company policy.
  • Performs audits of documented procedures as part of the department quality system.
  • Performs the job duties of the various positions in the department to be knowledgeable and as necessary when short staffed.

  • Problem Solving: An ability to recognize and analyze problems and resolve them quickly. • Results achievement: An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
  • People Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skill

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Advanced education in applicable fields
  • Five years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
