Feed Mill Tech- 3rd Shift
Job Description
The candidate hired for this role will be responsible for grain testing and manual addition of feed ingredients in accordance with operating procedures. In addition, the candidate in this role will also be introduced to inventory management, maintenance, repair and operation of production related equipment as well as housekeeping activities. Mill technicians are responsible for company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws and regulations.
Starting wage: $25.75/hr.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Grain tester- DON testing; Dockage; Moisture; bushel weight and foreign material; auto and manual truck probing.- Perform the function of "hand-adds", the manual addition of feed ingredients and accurately recording medication and vitamin usage.- Develop a basic level of understanding in animal nutrition and how ingredients interact with milling and grinding processes.- Clean and perform housekeeping of the Mill- Understands general mechanical duties typically needed- Maintain Bag inventories, stacked and orderly- Ability to lift 60 lbs alone and 100 lbs with assistance from other team members- Ability to operate a forklift is preferred but not required as long as you are will to get certified within 12 months of accepting the job offer.
Qualifications:- Basic computer skills- General Mechanical ability- Basic math skills-Ability to work 3rd shift (10 pm - 6 am)-Previous experience working as a farm hand or in feed mill preferred.
