Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator specializing in valve manufacturing to join our client's dynamic production team. The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.

This role involves operating and maintaining various machining equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CNC and manual machining tools, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. Prior factory or manufacturing experience is required, along with familiarity with precision measurement instruments and blueprint reading.

Duties

  • Performs multiple equipment operations by following specific procedure documentation.
  • Operate machines such as: pneumatic press, laser marker, and laser welder
  • Set up and adjust equipment to meet production specifications daily.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
  • Maintaining and documenting machine maintenance to limit machinery down time
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
  • Performs bench type processes to complete electrical and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, using hand tools, electronic, and pneumatic tooling.
  • Performs on-line go/no-go testing and inspection using test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Ability to explain assembly procedures or techniques to co-workers utilizing work instructions and standard manufacturing procedures.
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes.
  • Perform routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify component dimensions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and quality control procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience 1-2 yrs of experience preferred or transferable knowledge from similar industries.
  • Language and Communication Skills: The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in a one on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments accurately.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing principles and factory operations.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAM programming, SolidWorks, CAD software, and blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with machining processes including stamping presses, press brake machines, welding, fabrication, and materials handling.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious mindset, and ability to work effectively in a team environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality valve production while developing technical skills in a professional manufacturing environment.
