Available shifts: 3rd shift, 5:45pm-4:30am
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Packaging Operator to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operation of packaging filling machines, maintaining quality, integrity, temperature and weight within established standards. This position requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate various machinery and hand tools effectively.
Responsibilities
- Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements; sets stop and guides as indicated by container size.
- Cleans and assembles filler machine according to standard operating procedures.
- Sets up and activates machine, adjusts and performs minor machine maintenance as necessary, observes machine operation for proper fill and correct weights.
- Assist packaging helpers in set up of line, including labeling machines.
- Must maintain a safe, clean and sanitary work environment.
- All employees must be cross trained to perform responsibilities of other departments.
- Ability to lift about 45 lbs
Experience
- Previous experience in packaging or manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations, and CGMP practices is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and machinery.
- Efficient and accurate use of weights and measures required.
- Table scales, Hinds Boch Filler, Dumpers, Berry Packaging Line, LINX Coders, Heat Sealers, Bag Sealers, Sanitation system, and Thermometer.
- Standard operating speed of 15 containers per minute on Hinds Boch Fillers.
- Lifting of Shroud for filler; overhead to position on fillers weighing at 45 lbs.
- Accurate completion of daily paperwork and HAACP paperwork.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment when appropriate and/or as directed.
